How it began…
Back in the late summer of 2011, I was going through a bad breakup and a lot of that can be summed up here without repeating myself. I used that time to move on and get myself healthy; I even did two 5ks, 8k, 10k, and a 10-miler in 2012.
Towards the fall of 2012, I began to feel really bad physically and I literally stayed in bed for days. With a variety of symptoms, I went to immediate care finally and they were clueless about what it could be. They finally sent me to the hospital to get some blood work done thinking it could be my thyroid. When I got the results back my TSH levels were around an 8; the normal range is around .5 to 4.5. After getting an ultrasound of my thyroid and some time had passed I was finally put on medication for hypothyroidism.
Months passed and my thyroid levels actually increased up passed 9. Can you imagine how tired I was during this time? It was bad. Because I was so tired, I wasn’t doing much in terms of exercise.
